Notre recherche portait sur l’utilisation des chutes de tissus jetées lors de la coupe dans une production de vêtements. Nous avons produit nos propres tissus à l’aide de chutes de deux designers de Montréal. Nous avons ensuite conçu trois patrons: un t-shirt, un sac, et un coussin. Notre but final était d’obtenir des produits uniques et colorés donnant vie aux 15% des nouveaux tissus jetés lors de la coupe.

Our research project was about finding ways to repurpose the new discarded offcuts in a clothing production. We produced three different kind of product - bags, t-shirts and pillow cases - with clothing off-cuts from 2 different Montreal designers. Our goal was to end up with unique and colorful quilted pieces giving meaning to the 15% brand-new fabric discarded at the cutting process of the clothing production.
